The trailhead on this ride is located at the Little Elbow recreation centre which is 32 km from Bragg Creek on Hwy. 66. Park in the day use parking lot which is super obvious to find.

Yep, this is gonna be good!

First time I ever did this ride it turned into an epic gong show from which I still have emotional scars. The leader of the ride - who we will just refer to as BJ - had a buddy who's sister's cousin had done the ride before so BJ had the route finding covered off. No need to carry a map, consult the trail signs or carry the guide book - BJ's got it dialed in!

Scenic cruisin' at its very finest. Casual cruising on a fall afternoon.

We started the ride by fording the Elbow River three times - all unnecessarily. A missed left-hand turn in the middle of a downhill found us standing in the Blue Rock parking lot wondering what went wrong. Fortunately, the ranger quickly realized how pathetic we were and shuffled us back to our cars. I think all we had for supplies was a Pop Tart and some sun screen.

This story is all the more amazing in that (a) it is totally true; and (b) this ride has got to have some of the best signage in all of K-Country. How we messed it up is still beyond me...although I do have a couple of good clues.

A year later BJ moved to Edmonton but that's a story for another ride...
