Lake Minnewanka cont.
Rolling Banff Single Track
You can start this ride from either the parking lot or you can be a he-man (or she-woman) and ride up the access road from Banff. Once you are at the lake itself the trail is extremely well marked and it would be pretty hard to get lost here. Heads up that this trail is very popular with hikers so be courteous when approaching and passing. The number of hikers dwindles to almost zero after the first couple of kilometres so don't be in too much of a rush. The best riding is yet to come so dismount when passing and help to ensure that there is no reason to ban bikers on this trail. End of public service announcement.

Plan A: don't fall. Plan B: review Plan A.

A little climb through the forest puts you at the top of the only little hill on this ride. From there you cross a few steep scree slopes that turn into some of the nicest rolly-polly, twisty-turny single track trails you will ever ride. Heads up when traversing the scree slopes as skipping a peddle on a rock could be nasty. Really nasty. Novice riders should dismount and walk some of these sections as the objective here is to have fun not to experience Banff's health care facilities first hand.

Super-fun single track winds through the forest.

From the bottom of the scree slopes there is no navigation involved and as mentioned virtually no hikers. Kudos to the park staff for the maintenance work on this trail - it's usually in awesome shape and smooth sailing all the way.

Who wants a bike shop job?
Are bicycles your passion? Do you watch pennies except when buying bike stuff? Maybe you're looking to "supplement" your income or your access to bike parts. I am looking for somebody(s) who would be fun to work with, loves bikes, knows bikes and wants to work at a bicycle shop. I'm looking for 3 key factors - honesty, personality, knowledge. I am very flexible for the right person. Oh yeah - you should probably live in or near Cochrane. Email me.
