Terrace Trail - Kananaskis single-track bliss
Great rides always end at bars!
The trailhead for this ride description is located near the Kananaskis Lodge that is accessed via the Nakiska turn off of Hwy. 40. Just look for one of the many trail head signs as you start this ride or follow the signs that point to Terrace Trail, or in some cases, Terrace Trail South.

Tons of trail maps makes this a hard one to mess up...famous last words.
|
This is an out-and-back ride that goes between Mount Kidd and the Kananaskis Golf Course. Of note is the fact that the ride ends at Woody's Pub - important for any riders who may be suffering from any signs of dehydration.
On a warm night the rooftop patio at Woody's simply cannot be beat. Watching the alpenglow on the peaks opposite Kidd while you have a post-ride brewski and snack...this is mountain biking at its finest.
|
Stay between Mt. Kidd and the golf course and you can't go wrong.
|
Terrace Trail is mainly roly-poly single track with no significant sustained climbs of note. It is not overly technical or exposed but novice riders may feel the need to dismount and walk up or down a couple of steep and loose sections. A fall here would simply put you into the bushes, not a sports bloopers show.
|
"We will tell the girls that we rode to the top of Mt. Kidd."
"I'm right behind ya, mate."
|
The trail is 7 km long and ends at a parking lot on the south side of Mt. Kidd. From here you can either turn around and retrace your route or ride up the steep trail that leads to the paved bike path that runs parallel to the Hwy. The bike path usually puts the wind at your back and makes for a quick cruise back to your car.

I am looking for somebody(s) who would be fun to work with, loves bikes, knows bikes and wants to work at a bicycle shop. I'm looking for 3 key factors - honesty, personality, knowledge. I am very flexible for the right person. Oh yeah - you should probably live in or near Cochrane. Email me.
