Performance: who is riding their gravel bike in the drops vs who wants more stability when the gravel gets loose and you only find out once your wheels start ghosting at 40 Km/hr.
This: Gravel in the drops appeals to road riders who are (rightfully) attracted to the looks/feel of drops. A new group of riders are coming from the mountain biking background and guess what, flat bars feel more natural.
